Igor Mazepa: Business should rather be allowed to operate normally than go into lockdown
According to Concorde Capital CEO and Founder Igor Mazepa, there is no point in lockdowns. Instead, businesses should be given the opportunity to operate normally and pay taxes to the national budget.
Igor Mazepa, investment banker, CEO and Founder of Concorde Capital investment company, is confident that there is no point in lockdowns. The Government should rather allow the business to operate normally and pay taxes to the national budget than bribe inspectors. He made this point in comments for Liga Business.
“I see no reason in imposing lockdowns either from December 23 to January 15 and even more so from January 8 to 24. I have said it many times and I will repeat it again: we should work on the root cause rather than on effects of a problem. We should address the disgusting state of our healthcare system. Because of it, the sword of Damocles is constantly hanging over people,” says Igor Mazepa.
“Once our politicians are smart enough to carry out an effective medical reform, introduce shared health spending for patients and the government and compulsory health insurance, instead of embezzling big money allocated indeed by the government for medicine, it will immediately become much easier and calmer for everyone,” says Igor Mazepa.
“Moreover, the Government should rather allow the business to operate normally and pay taxes to the national budget than bribe inspectors. This would be a win-win situation. COVID-19 is just another new disease, and we will live with it for a long time. Over this time, lockdowns will totally destroy small and medium businesses,” Igor Mazepa added.
